🛋️ The Story Behind the Tee
Friday afternoon.
The workweek is finally over.
You close your laptop.
Take a deep breath.
And think:
“Finally. The weekend.”
Two whole days to relax.
Sleep in.
Put your feet up.
Maybe even do absolutely nothing.
Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?
There’s just one tiny problem.
You’re a mom.
And apparently, weekends are not included in the rest package.
Welcome to The Weekend Illusion.
Where Saturday and Sunday look suspiciously like two extra workdays.
Just without the meetings.
Or the paycheck.
CATCH UP.
Saturday morning.
You wake up thinking you’ll take it easy.
Then you notice the laundry.
The dishes.
The floors.
The mysterious pile of things that somehow appeared during the week.
And suddenly, your relaxing Saturday has turned into a full-scale cleaning operation.
But at least you’ll be able to rest afterward.
Right?
GROCERIES.
The refrigerator is empty.
Again.
Apparently, everyone expects to eat this weekend too.
So you make a list.
Find the shopping bags.
Head to the grocery store.
And spend the next hour navigating crowded aisles while trying to remember what everyone said they wanted.
You finally get home.
Unload everything.
Put it all away.
And someone immediately asks:
“Do we have anything to eat?”
Naturally.
ERRANDS.
There’s always something.
A package to return.
Something to pick up.
An appointment.
A birthday gift.
A forgotten school supply.
And that one thing you’ve been meaning to do for three weeks.
So back in the car you go.
Because apparently, the weekend is when all the things you didn’t have time for during the week finally demand attention.
REST?
Sunday evening.
The laundry is done.
The groceries are stocked.
The errands are finished.
The house is reasonably clean.
You finally sit down.
The couch feels amazing.
You close your eyes.
And for one beautiful moment, everything is peaceful.
Then you remember…
Tomorrow is Monday.
Wait. That was the weekend?
Seriously?
Where did it go?
This playful design captures the familiar weekend routine with four illustrated checkpoints: a cleaning basket, a grocery cart, a car full of errands, and a cozy armchair promising some much-needed rest.
Connected by arrows, they tell the story of a weekend that somehow disappears before anyone gets a chance to enjoy it.
And underneath it all, the perfect name for this weekly mystery:
THE WEEKEND ILLUSION.
Because weekends are supposed to be for relaxing.
But when you’re a mom, they’re often just two more days to get everything done.
Perfect for busy moms, working mothers, multitasking parents, tired moms, family-life humor, weekend warriors, or anyone who has ever reached Sunday night wondering where their two days off disappeared.
Because some people spend their weekends resting. Moms spend theirs catching up on everything.
